MARTA MÁCHOVÁ DRASTÍKOVÁ

She was born in 1986 in Opava. In the years 1997–2005, she studied at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava and from the fourth year she was an external guest at the Moravian-Silesian National Theater in the ballets Nutcracker and Swan Lake. In 2003, as one of several students of Czech dance conservatories, she was selected for a two-month internship at the American ballet school The Rock School Philadelphia. In the same year, she won 3rd place in category B at the 1st International Ballet Competition in Brno, and the following year she made it to the finals of the International Ballet Competition in Vienna. In the second year of the ballet competition in Brno (2006), she placed 2nd in category A.

From August 24, 2005, she worked at the Czech National Ballet in Prague as a member of the ballet company. She was appointed demi-soloist from the 2009/2010 season. On June 30, 2010, she ended her engagement and after a successful audition was accepted into the ballet company of the Vienna State Opera under the direction of the world-famous dancer Manuel Legris. Here, during two seasons, she danced in many world-famous choreographies.

From 16/08/2012 she again became a demi-soloist of the Czech National Ballet, from the 2015/2016 season she was appointed a Soloist, she was permanently engaged until 30/06/2022. Among her solo parts we name Clara in the ballet The Nutcracker – A Christmas Carol (choreography: Youri Vámos ), Sylphide in the ballet La Sylphide, Pas de six from 3rd act of the ballet Napoli or Grand pas de quatre in Balletomania, Prokofiev's Juliet, for which she won the Thalia Award 2013, Lisa in La Fille mal gardée, Madame de Tourvel in the Valmont ballet, Goldilocks in the same name ballet, Gerda in the Snow Queen ballet, etc.

Since the 2021/2022 season, she has been working as a classical ballet teacher at FIBS (First International Ballet School).

Marta is the wife of Radúz Mácha, actor of the National Theater.
